About
SURREY LAMDA QUALIFIED TEACHER
Enrichment beyond the classroom
Samantha has loved performing since being a child. Samantha studied on the three-year actor’s course at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (A.L.R.A) and went on to gain a degree in English with Drama and Theatre Studies at Roehampton Institute and later achieved her P.G.C.E. from Greenwich University
Samantha worked for Stagecoach Theatre Arts for 17 years and owned her own franchise for 10 years. Highlights of this time were providing opportunities for students to appear in joint events with other Stagecoach schools at Her Majesty’s Theatre and The Harlequin Theatre, Redhill, as well as opportunities at local festivals and competitions and annual shows and pantomimes, annual LAMDA drama examinations, developing students to progress to the highest levels with some auditioning and performing in West End shows
Samantha has taught at state primary and secondary schools, and at Merton Sixth Form College and Brooklands College on the G.N.V.Q, A.S and B.Tech courses. Samantha also provided after school drama clubs in Merton for 4 years with her own company ‘Daisy Chain Drama’ before becoming a mother 22 years ago
Samantha ran a music and singing department in South London for the Al Rasilah Trust, devoted to bringing skills to local Islamic children. Samantha has also steadily run for 25 years 'Bacchae Theatre Company’, a fringe theatre company dedicated to providing local fringe theatre in South London and rural Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, last seen touring ‘Canterbury Tales Made Modern’ in a red campervan names ‘Priscilla’. More recently in 2021, an adaptation of The Area Belle & Duel in the Dark
2022 - Present
Samantha has also been Acting Head of Drama (maternity) at Hurst Lodge School and then in 2023 High School Drama Teacher at ACS International School in Cobham. From 2023-2024 at Aldro Preparatory school in Godalming. She is currently at Alton Convent School in Alton. She is also a Trinity Art's Co-ordinator previously at Tormead School, Guildford
Bacchae Theatre
Samantha is involved in her own Theatre Company founded in 1999 and set up with classical plays in mind. The idea was bourne out of both the difficulty and frustration of achieving suitable parts as a performer, the enjoyment of studying and performing classic text as well at the creative freedom that comes with running your own production
